A work in progress… I don’t reveal much about myself willingly…

Let’s start with the factual details –

Current location: Austin, Texas, not so recently returned from Grenoble, France, where I lived for 1 year 7 and 1/2 months on an expatriate assignment with my company, returning to the US so I could be near during the illness of my Dad, since he died early in the morning of December 26, 2005, after an overnight vigil that I will not write about.

Current job: I work for a former member of the top ten semiconductor companies performing R&D on new transistor structures and materials for use in CMOS integrated circuits using non-volitile memory (NVM).

Previous habitations (most recent first):Grenoble, France (1 and 1/2 years); Austin, Texas (8 years); Portland, Oregon (5 years); Phoenix, Arizona (4 years); Memphis, Tennessee (22 years)

Education: MS in Solid State Physics, BS with a double major in Physics and Mathematics, (I have taught classes in Astronomy, Basic Physics, Modern Physics, and Chemical Vapor Deposition among other topics)

Hobbies: writing (not just this weblog… I do have a few fiction projects underway), reading (I have made a study of history - general, early American, European, and military over the years, probably sufficient for at least one degree in the subject), photography, astronomy (that hobby is in abeyance at the moment, but I hope to resume it soon), and I wish I could draw, paint or sculpt… I aspire to learn the techniques of at least one eventually
