I'm listening to Moon River (From Breakfast at Tiffany's) from the album Music from the Films of Audrey Hepburn by Audrey Hepburn & Henry Mancini.
This has got to be one of the saddest songs I've ever heard. I've only cried at the end of two movies, Breakfast at Tiffany's and Glory. The character played by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's is so screwed up and sad it's impossible for me to not to sympathize especially given my past, of which no one but myself truly knows about. I'd "fall in love" with that character in an instant if I met her in person, but now I'm wise enough to recognize that she would drag me into the Black Pit of Despair with her and I wouldn't be able to "save her" no matter how much I tried or how much I wanted to.
Wisdom sucks sometimes...
