Personal:
Small tragedies
By Jack GrantSometimes, I wish I could write music and lyrics to express what I feel.
And sometimes, one of my favorite artists does it for me:
Father, Son by Peter GabrielDamn, I miss my Dad sometimes, even though he's still alive, he's thousands of miles away, and I often wish we could really say to each other what we feel deep inside, where we hide it as if it were shameful.
Damn it, I hate it when a song makes me cry...
We all have these small tragedies in our lives, and it is up to us and no one else, not even God, to turn them into victories.
Tell those whom you love how you feel, and gain that victory while you still can.

I lost my dad years ago and have never really got over it. I am still much younger than he was when he died, but I can taste the melancholy of parenthood that he must have experienced. All I can do now is embrace my daughter, whenever I see her or talk to her, and comfort myself in the knowledge that I have learned to love and guide because of my father.
Thanks, Jack.

NO.
Especially SHOW your children that you love them.
Posted by: probligo at August 14, 2005 01:46 AMI would say to especially let your parents know how much you love them and how great they have been - for they will be gone much sooner than they should be.
Not a day goes by when I don't miss my mom and my dad - Mom died 20 years ago. Dad died 8 years ago - and they are still with me every single day.
