Commentary:

Is it a sign?

    By Jack Grant

Well...

A balanced political cartoon.

Next thing you know, we'll have all kinds of strangeness... Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together - mass hysteria.

Nick Anderson (at MyComicsPage.com, a subscription service, but inexpensive and worth it!):

Hopefully, with both extremes frothing at the mouth, perhaps the sensible middle can take the reigns.

At least, that is my forlorn hope...

Do you have a link to this comic or the name of the author? I'd like to see more.

Thanks!

Heh. What about those of us who froth at the mention of either name?!

I've never understood the self-statisfaction of those who call themselves centrists. Of two contradictory propositions, one is correct and the other is not (or one is closer to reality than the other, if the concepts under discussion are ambiguously defined.) To grab a supposed middle ground is to proclaim half-right as the road to truth.

Trying to hold the center in not so quiet desperation while the left and the right do their damnest to tear everything apart.

What Others Say
An American transplanted to France for the moment, Jack is sometimes conservative, sometimes liberal, and almost always right.

Jack has an impressive knowledge of history, politics, and Keanu Reeves. When it comes to pirates, Jack is waaay sexier than that pansy Dread Pirate Roberts. Oh, wait--I'm thinking of Jack Sparrow...

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the center cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
   -William Butler Yeats, January 1919

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
