General:

Tom Cruise Unhinged?

    By Joe Gandelman

You know, maybe his point is this:

Ritalin is an overused medication (it's speed guys)which is used to control the behavior of children more so than to treat ADD. Check the stats. This is his point, regardless of not having a medical background, I can research too. I also have friends and acquaintences who have used this to control their children's behavior because they talk to much in school, need to burn off some energy and just aren't used to sitting still at a desk or misbehave according to the teacher when in fact, THEY ARE BORED out of their minds and not challenged. I don't know about you, but, as a child my mind was everywhere because I was learning and discovering new things. Give 'em Ritalin and make them all complacent sheeps and robots. Ritalin is flat out over-prescribed for people who want the perfect quiet controlled child. Childhood just isn't like that. Ritalin correctly prescribed, on the other hand, for actual ADD, is a good thing. I would however, think twice or thrice about giving any child a healthy dose of amphetamine every day. I know someone whose child actually has ADD, as she does herself, and who controls it through diet very handily. End of rant.

-Epiphany: Maybe we can just all go into the doctor and claim to have ADD and then get prescriptions for amphetimes (Ritalin)! Wow, maybe that's what is going on...

Trying to hold the center in not so quiet desperation while the left and the right do their damnest to tear everything apart.

What Others Say
An American transplanted to France for the moment, Jack is sometimes conservative, sometimes liberal, and almost always right.

Jack has an impressive knowledge of history, politics, and Keanu Reeves. When it comes to pirates, Jack is waaay sexier than that pansy Dread Pirate Roberts. Oh, wait--I'm thinking of Jack Sparrow...

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the center cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
