General:

Frank Gorshin has died

    By Jack Grant

For those who do not recognize the name, he played The Riddler in the 1960s Batman television series in a campy yet fitting performance that displayed his great talent to those willing to see.

The best tribute to him, however, is likely this:

Gorshin's wife of 48 years, Christina, was at his side when he died Tuesday at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, his agent and longtime friend, Fred Wostbrock, said Wednesday.
They stayed together for 48 years.

That says a lot.

He was always my favorite of ALL of the Batman villains. Sad.

That takes me back to grade school - Batman everything - lunch box, etc. I loved that show - and the Riddler was one of the best characters.

Y'know - my parents had celebrated their 47th just months before Mom died. We always regretted not having any big party to celebrate their 45th. How sweet to see couples still together after so long.

For me, Frank Gorshin will always be lovingly remembered as black on one side, white on the other & locked in eternal combat with a no-name actor....

Trying to hold the center in not so quiet desperation while the left and the right do their damnest to tear everything apart.

What Others Say
An American transplanted to France for the moment, Jack is sometimes conservative, sometimes liberal, and almost always right.

Jack has an impressive knowledge of history, politics, and Keanu Reeves. When it comes to pirates, Jack is waaay sexier than that pansy Dread Pirate Roberts. Oh, wait--I'm thinking of Jack Sparrow...

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the center cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
