Opinion:
All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others...
By Jack Grant...if they have money, that is.
This question at hoffmania.com encapsulates everything there is to say about the bankruptcy bill that has passed Congress:
Exactly when did we become pure 100% assholes?Stop buying things with credit, because the credit card companies only want your money, they do NOT have your interests even remotely on their radar, except for how they can extract the maximum in fees and interest from you. And now, Congress has shown they are ready to aid and abet usury.
Caveat emptor... and drop your shorts anyway because we're all going to get fucked in the ass good and hard, without the benefit of lubricant. This is just the first in a long line of laws favoring the interests of businesses over consumers, and the powerful over the individual.
Rights? Individuals have no rights in the face of deep pockets.
Do you think I'm pissed? I haven't even started... The pigs in Congress are at the trough, wallowing in the shit and begging for their supper, and the business lobby is thanking God for their good luck, and none of these fuckers give a damn about freedom, liberty, or anything but money, and the individual who has no power but the basic human rights that our heritage from the Declaration of Independence and Constitution says he should have is nothing but another source of income to be milked and cast aside when no longer productive.
Is this the government you want? It's the one you voted into office.
