Weblogs:

A question to other bloggers

    By Jack Grant

Do you find you have time to read the posts of your favorite weblogs, but not the comments if there are more than a few? Especially if someone decides to write a comment that is of novella length?

Just wondering, because I don't seem to have the time, nor the patience. Not anymore, anyway.

Comments

Much depends on the initial post and how much it interests me. Also, how much the commenter interests me with their response. However, if you want shorter comments here, I'm sorry I didn't see this before posting my first reply... *grin*

Actually, if the post interests me, I'm anxious to see what the comments have to say.

On some other sites, I enjoy the comments as much, if not more than the post.

It is often through the comments that I find new and interesting blogs.

Perhaps, I have a lot more time to waste...

Holy crap Jack, I'm feeling the comment reading fatigue tonight...or this morning rather, as it's almost 2am here.

Having been without connection all weekend, I've missed quite a bit. So I've spent the past hour or two trying to catch up. My eyes hurt!

BTW, I was also without connection when I spoke with Rob this weekend. That "conscience" post of his was inspired without me having read any of this.

But I wasn't pleased even to have HEARD of another personal attack, particularly right on the heels of my own, and obviously, I voiced that. I care for him, and I'll call him friend no matter how badly he pisses me off, but I disagree with him on technique just about as often as I disagree with you on politics. ; )

I recognize that you put a lot of thoughtful consideration and research into everything you write, and agree or not, I respect that. And I have a problem with anyone who doesn't also respect that in you.

Now. I'm gonna be a good little girl, and NOT remind you of the comment you left me telling me not to waste my time justifying myself...

(Sorry, didn't mean for it ALL to come out within this one comment block...just where I ended up. :D)

Trying to hold the center in not so quiet desperation while the left and the right do their damnest to tear everything apart.

What Others Say
An American transplanted to France for the moment, Jack is sometimes conservative, sometimes liberal, and almost always right.

Jack has an impressive knowledge of history, politics, and Keanu Reeves. When it comes to pirates, Jack is waaay sexier than that pansy Dread Pirate Roberts. Oh, wait--I'm thinking of Jack Sparrow...

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the center cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
