If by “ticking bomb” you mean applying physical suasion to save the lives of hundreds or thousands of innocent people, I believe that action has a little more moral authority than mere “expediency”. Actually, Jack, I think to NOT do all possible to avert such a calamity would be the act of evil. Now, 2 or 3 people were waterboarded back in ‘03. One was KSM and he gave up some serious goods. This straw man you’ve erected hasn’t been given his brain yet by the Wizard.
