Absurdity and self-examination

I don’t think that this one is necessarily true, although it has some wee bit of veracity in it:

Almost all absurdity of conduct arises from the imitation of those whom we cannot resemble.

This one is, though:

The unexamined life is not worth living.
   -Socrates
