An odd similarity
by Jack GrantI heard an interview of a member of the Lebanese Parliament on the radio the other day. It was very interesting to hear how the Member of Parliament put his “party” (Hezbollah) over the larger responsibility towards his nation.
Sadly enough, hearing the language used reminded me of things I have read on weblogs by rabid partisans of either party, and the nakedly politically driven actions of our representatives in Congress.
Party over country, the rule of the day here in the United States.
Faction over people, the rule of the day in the Middle East.
An odd similarity, and a distinction that becomes more blurred every day.
