A strategy used by politicians and terrorists in nations free and oppressed

by Jack Grant

It’s only water
In a stranger’s tear
Looks are deceptive
But distinctions are clear

There is safety in numbers
When you learn to divide
How can we be “in”
When there is no outside?

I’ll take “In Your Eyes”- with John Cusack holding the boom box from “Say Anything”.

How on earth did Peter Gabriel ever get to be an Aussie!! Since Midnight Oil I have wondered. (Yeah I know he was born there :P )

An Aussie with a real heart – that IS something.

The bits you left out -

A foreign body
And a foreign mind
Never welcome
In the land of the blind
You may look like we do
Talk like we do
But you know how it is

All shades of opinion
Feed an open mind
But your values are twisted
Let us help you unwind
You may look like we do
Talk like we do
-But you know how it is

You’re not one of us
Not one of us
No you’re not one of us

And who has the twisted values? He doesn’t say. Who turns away from the newcomer? Is it you, or is it I, or is it both?

He has a powerful language.
