You make friends you might never have met, and you gain enemies you would otherwise never have made.
Is this a gain, or a loss?

Heh. I guess it depends on who the enemies are. ;-)
The enemies are irrelevent. Just tune them out and they go away. They are only cyber, they aren’t a nasty neighbor you contend with day in and day out.
The friends you meet are different. They can enrich.
In my mind… it is a gain.
