A final post marked “personal” here
by Jack GrantLiving in France, I have a difficult time keeping up with what is presented to the general population in the United States, a task that was not easily achieved for me even when I lived in Austin because I tended to use news sources that were not typical of the majority.
I addition, I have issues that concern me that I write about that may not appeal to the majority who choose to read weblogs, even those who are “politically aware” and try to inform themselves of the issues that concern them as fully as possible.
In other words, I tend to not engage as wide an audience as I would like.
My sole “blog-child” as it is commonly termed, Christina, despite her quasi-schitzophrenic changes of URLs and sites where she writes has managed to build a devoted audience that is larger, more vocal, and more dedicated than those who follow what I write here at Random Fate or at any of the other venues within which I have the honor of adding content.
There are a number of folks I feel have vast contributions to make, among whom are a poet I have not harassed to create a weblog because she is an elementary school teacher with far too much other work to need anything additional to her load such as a weblog, regardless of her immense talent that I feel is unappreciated, along with more than one single-mom who have insights into life that I and the majority of other bloviating bloggers could never match, and who again because of their situations have no time to put their thoughts and experiences into words, much less take the seemingly minute to the average person but huge in their framework amount of time needed to set up a weblog.
They deserve to be heard at least as much as I or anyone else does, perhaps more, yet they will not have even the venue available to me.
I do my best to include what I understand of their view in what I say, but I cannot encompass the whole.
Do not forget those who do not have the time and cannot express their views, for they have insights that others may not think of or even understand.

As the teacher/poet: Thank you for the compliment.
PS: You’re right on the workload. I’ve been doing grades/averages since 530a this morning. UGH.
