No posting tonight

by Jack Grant

My father will be undergoing surgery sometime in the next few hours on the other side of an ocean from where I am. I spoke with him on the phone a short while ago; he has a tube in his throat that is removing all the fluids that are building up in his stomach because of the intestinal blockage, so he could not speak very well.

Despite that obstruction, I could tell the pain has worn him down.

Needless to say, my mind is not on posting. I will give news here as soon as I have any. Thank you to all who have expressed their concerns and best wishes. Please send any good thoughts you have to my Mom and Dad; they need them far more than I do.

Harsh, but too true at times…

by Jack Grant

…of those who feel a need to think of themselves as superior to others. That is what separates them from people of true faith.

God is the immemorial refuge of the incompetent, the helpless, the miserable. They find not only sanctuary in His arms, but also a kind of superiority, soothing to their macerated ego’s; He will set them above their betters.
