The perils of explaining by analogy

I recently tried to make a point about how often important trends are too readily dismissed because on the face of things, the initial changes appear minute, and it requires doing the math to truly determine the consequences.

Unfortunately, I attempted to explain this using analogy instead of in-your-face rhetoric, and many took the analogy as the point of the post rather than the means by which I was conveying my message.

Bloody Hell…

It’s probably a good thing I’m spending the day in Lyon on Saturday, far from my Internet connection.

Sigh…
