Bandwidth overloaded
by Jack GrantToo much input, too much output…
While the disaster in New Orleans was neither unanticipated or unprecedented, the world of weblogs with their sometimes acute observations but far, far more often their idiotic unthinking repetition of the talking points of “their side” (whatever that means in this world of enemies) is indeed without antecedent, at at this point looks to be a net negative from where I sit.
I am trying to put together some thoughts, not only on the aftermath of Katrina, but also the reactions by some bloggers on it, particularly some admired almost to the point of worship. Those comments will go on Radio Saigon, which is reserved for my more immoderate thoughts.
A few ruminations rise to the surface in the static of the overloaded bandwidth, however.
Am I the only one who finds an odd dissonance in the administration repeatedly saying they don’t want to play the “blame game” while they simultaneously ramp up the “spin game“?
Am I the only one who finds an odd peculiarity in the number of times President George W. Bush uses the word “work” in almost any statement or speech?
Am I the only one who sees no linkage between the suitability (or non) of John Roberts to be Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court and the disaster on the Gulf Coast?
Am I the only one whose head is about to explode over all of the idiocies, both in governmental statements and actions, and in the reaction of blogworld?
